How it works
One call or form gets your project in front of a dock builder who already knows Hartwell's permit process.
You call or send a request
Tell us where your lot is, what you have at the water now, and what you want: a new floating dock, a lift, repairs, a move or new decking.
We connect you with a local company
Your request goes to an independent dock or marine contractor that works on Lake Hartwell.
The company handles the job
They quote, schedule and do the work. Pricing, warranties and terms come from them directly.
What we are and aren't
Lake Hartwell Dock Builders is a referral service, not a contractor. We don't send crews or employ technicians, and we don't set prices. Using the site is free for homeowners.
Docks on Lake Hartwell sit on federal water, so the Corps of Engineers must issue a Shoreline Use Permit before one goes in, and the permit holder, not the builder, is responsible for following it. Ask the builder which South Carolina license they hold (LLR's Contractor's Licensing Board has a Marine classification, and the Residential Builders Commission licenses residential work over $5,000), who will prepare the drawings for the Corps, whether the floats carry the 8-year sinking warranty the Corps requires, and who will certify any wiring. Get the scope and warranty in writing.
